Blue and Gold Banquet

I posted more pictures and such on my photography/cake blog about this event but wanted to say a little something about it on my personal blog. Being in cub scouts is a LOT of work. One of the big things I did this year was put together the blue and gold banquet. It took so much help from friends and great people to pull this together in the way we did. We went with the theme take me out to the ball game.
A friend from Soccer who works for Bar S donated all the hotdogs and polish dogs, and a guy in the ward who does bread delivery donated all the buns.  It really helped our budget.

My friend Laurel painted all the pictures and sat and cut out of the free vinyl my friend Kayci gave me.  Great to have those two amazing ladies to make it so much cuter and afordable.

Then the hours that Desiree and Krinn sat at my house with me making these cute peanut containers and such.  Denise worked with all the cubscouts making baseball cards, invites and more.

I did learn after this cute simple idea for table covers that you should learn to do math better.  If you are going to have 150+ people there, you can't fit them all on 8 tables.  Luckily the RS saved the day with 7 table clothes to mix in.
Lastly we had a cake contest for the cub scouts.  It was all we asked the parents to bring which was nice.  I made this cake for the occassion, as you never know about how many and how much there will be when the cakes are coming from 8-10 year olds.  Luckily, they really showed up great and there was plenty of food and fun for all!  As for me, I'm just glad it's done for another year!
