Rachel's class has created a company to learn about economics. They had do fill out applications and write up resume's. Then they had the big interview. You had to dress for the interview. That was made clear. So she slept in curlers and dressed in one of her best business like dresses. She came home that day to inform me that the interview wasn't until tomorrow. She had the day wrong!

So the next morning we did it all over again. But wanted her to look fresh and professional and different from the day before. Then shortly after the interview Rachel called me in tears from the nurse's office. She had been so upset about the interview she made herself sick to her stomach. As we talked about what was wrong. She talked about how she had to make a decision and knew she would NEVER get the job because of it.

There was a question, are you responsible in all your doings? Or something like that. She said she was torn. She knew if she answered it honestly she would never get the job she wanted, but at the same time, she couldn't bear the thought of being dishonest. So she said no, she was not always responsible. She said the interview didn't go very good after that. And when the jobs were announced the job she got was instead of being a tier 1 job she had interviewed for, she got a tier three job that didn't even require dressing up for the interview or anything. When I asked her why she didn't feel like she was responsible, she told me how she hasn't been keeping her bedroom clean and hasn't been doing something just as soon as she was asked, she'd have to be asked sometimes two or three times to unload the dishwasher.

My sweet lovely Rachel! I love her so much! It means so much to me that she had the courage to be honest even though she knew she wouldn't get what she wanted. I love her so much as she proved how much she is really listening and learning from what we try to teach her, even when she doesn't obey as quickly as I'd like at times. And it broke my heart that she had to learn the lesson that just because you make the correct choice morally, doesn't mean you will just get blessed with what you are hoping for anyway. Sometimes you don't get what you want that you might have gotten had you lied. It's hard to think of her having to learn this so young, but I love her with all my heart and am so glad to be there to hug away the pain and congratulate and reassure her that she did the right thing!
I love you Rachel Roo!!
