Freezing in Rusper, England

So, after many months of John's work talking about him going to England for work they finally sent him. He left Thanksgiving weekend and stayed for a week. When they originally planned it he was going to stay a couple weeks since there was so much to do. Instead due to timing they only sent him for 1 week. Their plan backfired however.

The snow was sooo bad in Rusper that he was only able to go into the office for a day and a half before they shut everything down.

In Rusper where he stayed there was two pubs an old church, the hotel where he stayed and a car dealership. That was it for the first 4 days he was in England. He got tired of the heavy food from there. I had told him so many times to make sure to take lots of pictures in England for me, that several times he wandered out in the snow to take pictures of the scenery around the hotel.

The trains were shut down but they finally found a car service that would drive them back into London where there was more going on.

It was funny to hear John talk about the food there. He kept saying it was the same thing as such and such from home, but it had a little different taste to it, or it just didn't taste quite right.

We finally determined that food was like Language. Both America and England speak the same language but it sure doesn't sound the same. Both countries make so many of the same dishes, but just like the language, the food there had an accent.

He was so happy to find a McDonald's on the drive back into London where they food tasted more like what he was used to.

There will be many more pictures of London and such to come, these are just to show just how much it snowed on the small village of Rusper who was not equipped to handle it.

Having lived in Arizona for so many years though we could find the beauty in the snow covered landscape.
