Luau with Friends

Our friend, Debbie Niu had a Luau to celebrate her husband graduating from ASU with a master's degree and his birthday. We spent the evening enjoying great food and even better company. It was a huge undertaking they put on. It was so impressive and just so much fun. I made festive cupcakes in ASU colors, (Luckily that's where he graduated from since I had left over frosting from my brother's ASU cake).

I love the fun centerpieces she had at the tables. But the kids really loved having candy in their reach everywhere. We found pockets full of gum from Harrison when he got home.

Rachel is such a cutie! She had so much fun dancing and playing with her friends.

Harrison thought since he is so good at wii hula hooping, using a real one should just come naturally. He didn't do bad, but couldn't master 5 real hoops like he can on wii fit.

No matter what she is doing, when Rachel sees me with the camera she is always good for a pose for me! Gotta love her!

Harrison tries his hand at the Hookie Lau (I'm not Hawaiian so don't ask me to spell things right!)

Ellie loves her daddy! They danced together a lot that evening

The mom's all got taught how to hula dance. Now this picture is my favorite of us mom's dancing. First, Harrison took it. He's pretty good isn't he? Second, notice how we are all doing different moves. No, that's not the way it's supposed to be. We should all be doing the same things. Talk about some good learners huh?

Rachel learns to dance "Pearly Shells" with a bunch of kids. She can definately move her hips!

Ellie was so cute and kept trying to climb up on the trampoline with the big kids. It's hard to resist a girl as cute as her.

Thanks Debbie and Chris for a wonderful Friday night!
