Scouts

 Change is never easy, but sometimes you can see the divine hand of the Lord in it.  I know I have recently.  Our ward changed boundaries.  Lots of people have struggled with it.  It's hard to not go to church with all your friends you've been with for so long.  But for us the new kids it has brought into my kids life has been incredible! 

 Peter here is one of many.  He is a new best friend for Harrison.  They spend so much time together and they have so much in common.  I love that these two boys love things together not electronic.  They both love baseball cards and spend many hours with their cards.  It has been such a good thing for Harrison.

 In addition to Peter there have been so many other young men that are great influences for my son.  He has started to step up as a good leader and makes me proud.  Don't get me wrong, he is still a teenage boy but the growth I've been seeing in him makes me proud. 

 We also have been blessed with a phenomenal Young Mens Program in our ward.  The president and all his counselors are great.  They love these boys and want to keep them moving in the right direction and you can tell.  The boys have been camping and hiking so much. 

 Recently they have been working on their cycling merit badge.  Harrison just finished the last ride.  They consist of 2 10 milers, 2 15 milers, 2 25 milers, and one 50 mile bike ride.  Way to go!  What  huge accomplishment!

 Now I can't say we haven't had our share of struggles as we've accomplished those bike rides.  This week alone we had one tire go flat, get replace and go flat during the same ride, another bike had it's chain fall off completely, then tire issues on that bike too.  Finally the next ride we had another flat tire, went to borrow a bike to swap with him and that bike had a tire pop while airing it up.  We finally found another bike got it to him and he had to finish the ride with a bike that has a baby seat on it.  Through this and many others the boys have learned the benefit of a nice road bike and they love and want their own road bikes so badly.

Overall, words can't describe how proud I am of my boys and all they have accomplished recently when it comes to scouts.
