John went with the deacons to hike Picacho Peak. It was a fun hike by all who attended. But they said they hadn't been on a hike that steep before.
I was glad they came home with some pictures as listening to them climb the rock cliff with just cables they had to hold onto made me super nervous. Seeing the pictures help me feel they were a little more safe than they felt like they were.
This picture of the boys holding the line is a good example of how steep this way. They are not "leaning" forward like it looks here. They are standing straight up and down. That's how steep the hill was they were climbing.
Once they all made it and got pictures to proudly show the success of the day...they got to do it all again in reverse. From what I'm told this is much harder than the up. Glad they all made it up and down safe and sound.
Congrats to the boys and their leaders doing it so safely.

love the picture of the steep climb. still kind of hard to really appreciate even though i did turn the computer around to try to imagine them standing straight up. very cool.
