A super fun stop in Price, Utah

Day to the of the drive to Utah we stopped at my sister's house in Price Utah. We had so much fun just hanging out and visiting with her. We went out to lunch at what is according to her one of the only places to eat in price. (We will have to take her word on that one)

But mostly why we stopped there was just to be able to see her cute new house they just bought and have been working like crazy to fix up. We had a lot of fun checking it out. Ellie loved that they have a doggie door since she loves to play dog all the time anyway. This is a girl who loves to get crackers or goldfish in one bowl and water in another bowl and sit on the floor and "lick it up" like a dog. So a house with a dog door that she could crawl through was heaven for her.

(I'm not sure my sister thinks it's as great as Ellie does but it made Ellie happy. This might have to do with the fact my sister doesn't actually have a pet, just a pet door that she got with the house)

Then when we were outside checking out the yard she had showed us all the work they had done and then showed us how big the property is and what they planned on doing with the extra property in back (plant a pumpkin patch) but at this point it's still on the to do list.

It's funny how different people can see the same space in such a different way. For my sister, it's the part of the property they still need to get to. For me, a photographer, I was in heaven. I made her promise that after we ate lunch I could go out there with Ellie and snap some pictures since it is such a great field for pictures. Ellie saw it as pure heaven. She loves the "blowing flowers" as she calls them. They aren't really something she sees much of in AZ so she was in heaven at an entire field of them just for her. Luckily my sister hadn't done anything yet with the area as Ellie spread more dandelion seeds through the field that day.

We stopped at the dinosaur museum in Price while we were there. The kids are great in that they love simple things like a museum they have never been to.

Every kid has their own idea of what is the neatest thing, like a bear or a dinosaur you can pretend is eating you.

This kids loved how much Devin would play and get silly with them. It was nice to have someone else to entertain them for a bit after keeping them entertained so much on the drive. (On a side note, it took so much extra entertaining day two of the drive due to Ellie puking moments after we got on the road.)

Ellie and Rachel loved using the tools to move the sand to discover the dinosaur bones below. She would cover and uncover the bones again and again.

Everyone enjoyed as Devin kept burying Ellie's crock in the sand and the excitement on her face as she would discover it again.

The kids had so much fun with people who were so happy to be with them and explore with them and not have it be just "their mom", who they were pretty bored with.

It was a wonderful stop to just visit and play with family along the way. The boys loved the "soccer game" they played with Devin in the back yard, the girls drew and created and loved playing with the "toy ducks" Devin kept around. Ellie was disappointed that Devin thought he wanted to keep his ducks and not give them to her. What does a grown man want with ducks anyway? And I loved just sitting and relaxing around the house with Melynde as we visited and caught up. It reminds me how far I live from all the family we love. I wish I could do it more often.

Thanks Melynde and Devin for a great stop!
