While in Utah we had one day where we were able to get all the cousins together for a little bit. Due to people flying out at different times for different things this was the only day we got all the cousins together while we were there so we made sure to snap a few pictures of all the kids together. You can't ask for too much when it's those kids together huh?
So we have (in the order of the picture) My girls, Rachel holding Ellie, then Lorenzo's son Mahonri, then Monica's son Keegan, than my boys Matthew and Harrison who is holding Lorenzo's daughter Leila. Yep, these two were the two best pictures of the lot.
Ellie really wanted to get close to see and touch Jesus's owies. I love the simple love, faith and adoration of a small child.
She however did not feel that Matthew and I were giving Jesus the quiet he deserved by quietly talking to each other. I love that sweet bossy sassy little girl! She makes me smile and laugh...which just makes her more angry with us.
One of the things we'd never seen before we had never seen before was a model of the Salt Lake Temple including what was inside the temple. It is so fun to see it all in miniature. The older kids had fun with me finding the same type of room where John and I were married.
Though we had all the kids including Aunt Kim's mom and sister with us to start, we all had a picnic lunch near the cars before we split up. Kim and her group headed home while the rest of us went and watched the new Joseph Smith movie in the Joseph Smith memorial building. It was a beautiful movie that brought tears to all our eyes.
After the movie knowing we still had some more time we headed over to the Church History museum. The kids loved all the exhibits but they had favorites still.
It was so much fun to watch all the kids put on the mexican clothes and dance. The girls loved the big skirts! It really was so much fun! Even the cool Aunt Monica got out there and danced with the kids.
They also checked out lots of quilting stuff and pioneer stuff while they were there, but the pictures of the kids dancing was my favorite and since you are getting such an overload of pictures I thought I'd keep to my favorites.
Ellie was so fascinated with seeing a "real golden plates" (even if it wasn't a real one, just a replica to show how heavy they are.
We did some pictures outside the temple. This is Monica and her son. Aren't they cute together? We did do pictures of my kids at the temple but that is a whole post on it's own.
In the end it was a truly wonderful day filled with friends, family, bonding, spiritual growth, and educational growth. It was a highlight for all of us!
Finally, I love this picture of Matthew walking with my mom. He is as tall as Grandma Heidi!
