As for Harrison, his class did a "tea party at the white house" for the theme of their research projects. Everyone had to pick a person who would be famous enough to be invited to the white house. Then they spent weeks researching everything you could ever want to know and then some about this person. They had to do a huge essay along with a poster, a poem, draw multiple pictures that tie into their life and finish off with the oral report dressed as the person. He was Bill Gates today at school so we can finally move on from trivia about Bill, for instance, he has a mac book pro computer but won't let his wife or kids have ipods or iphones. That is harrison's favorite tidbit. Also, he did finally go back and graduate college showing that even the rich need a degree.

Finally, Rachel has been learning all there is to know about Dr Seuss. She has spent weeks reading about Dr. Seuss, looking at all of his art. She wrote a paper about him and had to make a "creative project" about him. She made him out of a two liter bottle. And though he was not known to ever wear the cat in hat "hat" it is one of the most notable things that makes you immediately think of him so we used another two liter bottle to make the hat to sit on his head. She did pretty good if I do say so myself. She will spend this weekend finishing up the power point to help her present her oral report as she gets painfully nervous speaking in front of others so it should help give her confidence in her ability to give her oral report. What we learned about him? Theador (Ted) Suess Giesel is actually his name and like most artists was criticized by his art teacher.
As for us, we are looking forward to finishing the last of the massive projects and welcoming in some days to play with friends and sleep in instead of staying up late running around town to libraries and fighting over who gets to use the computer tonight.

I have to say, that all sounds completely miserable - for you as well as the kids! So glad you're almost done! :)
