I worried that making the gingerbread house the day after christmas would be a waste since it wouldn't be up for a long season to look at and enjoy. But it turns out the kids had almost as much fun making it as they did consuming it! Glad it brought them joy twice! I guess that is the advantage of doing it so late. The gingerbread is still soft and fresh and Matthew ate almost all of the structure after the kids and John ate what they liked of the candy!
