Downtown SL, a traditional visit

Every time we go to Utah we take the kids up to temple square. It is a fun time to take the time to visit and chat about life and history of our family and the church.

The kids had a lot of fun "recreating" our wedding pictures for me. It was pretty fun to watch them recognize parts of the temple and such. I retold the proposal story making the boys laugh and admire dad all the more.

Ellie was terrified she was going to fall in the water everywhere so the pictures of her are lacking to say the least but the rest of us enjoyed the few minutes there.

Well that is until we sat down to enjoy the picnic lunch the kids packed. (Money is tight so we tried to be diligent about bringing food with us everywhere.) Well when we went to eat we noticed the kids made the sandwiches on moldy bread. Yeah, talk about appetite killer. Needless to say the kids also got to enjoy a little Carls jr for their trouble.

Also it might be tough to tell in this photo, but Ellie made it a little tough to walk as she felt the best place to hold onto Matthew while he walked with her on his shoulders was on his eyes. Funny girl!

While downtown we also visited the State capitol. We took a tour there and had fun doing a bingo picture game. The kids found all the pictures...maybe we helped a little, but they found them all anyway.

This was one of the favorite rooms to look at and see. I also loved that since we visited a capitol and since Temple square is a National landmark Matthew is almost done with another merit badge. Hooray.
