Arizona Nevels Family: Ft Lowell Shoot Out!

One of the things I love about soccer is the tournaments. They are busy but so much fun! The Ft. Lowell Shootout tournament is by far one of my favorites we go to. It is down in Tucson AZ. We get a hotel room and go down on Friday night. They have a parade of all the players and teams. Matthew's team really got him "decked" out with a new hairdo for it. He thought it was fun.

Then Harrison competed in a shootout competition. It's a fun event in their olympics where a handful of players from the team take turns doing penalty shots at the goalie from the other team. This goes back and forth until there is a winner. Harrison's team took 1st place for his age group!

Then Matthew competed in the same event for his age group.

His team also took first place in the competition. Both boys sunk some goals to get their firsts.

Next Matthew competed in a dribbling competition. I love this picture of his florescent hair streaking through the dark.

Again another metal for those boys!

Matthew was so happy to get the metals hanging around his neck. I love that part of the event. Especially since with tournaments ending on Sundays we always leave before the final game and never are there even if the boys get a metal at the end. I love that they get to be a part of the things there.

Saturday tournaments are crazy especially with two boys. We did a 20 min drive back and forth across Tucson again and again. Four games in one day alternating times and fields. It was super fun and I loved it as crazy as it was.

I also have to add that my new GPS that John got me for Christmas came in more than handy that weekend. Thanks love! It made the trip so much better!Matthew's team played their hearts out and had a blast!

With the way things worked I watched all of both of Harrison's games and missed parts of Matthew's. John saw most of Harrison's first game and then all of Matthew's games missing Harrison's second game but getting to go to lunch with Matthew and his team.

Harrison's team won both their games on Saturday going on to take 2nd place overall in the tournament! Go team!

Ellie was a funny girl who loved to roll around in the grass as she watched the game. She'd go over to another mom and get her to brush all the grass off before she'd go roll around in it again.
