For the weekend of the 4th we took the kids and went camping for several days. We camped with our friends the Chipmans.

John was trying to sleep, but Ellie kept moving her chair next to his to get his attention.

Knowing showers would be limited if possible at all, we took the time to take care of her long hair before we left in hopes of not having to mess with it too much while we were camping.

Bennett always wanted to hold Ellie. It was cute how much the kids loved her.
One thing we enjoyed as we normally do is all the tasty food. But I have to say after borrowing a good camp stove and a dutch oven (thanks Nielsen's) it made it all that much better!
Rachel and Kellan often had Ellie with them when they played. They were great big siblings.
I will do more posts of the weekend, the hikes, the, fireworks etc. But it is safe to say it was a lot of fun....when it wasn't raining, which it did to us everyday at some point, but when it was all said and done, though we set up camp in the rain, at least when we loaded it all up to put away it was dry!
