Sharing the Gospel

One of the greatest experiences my kids have had this year was sharing the gospel with their friend.  He has been attending scouts for the last few year with the boys and this late spring early summer started taking the discussions.
I was so impressed with AJ and his desire to join the church and follow his heart even when he is the only person in his family to be a member.  We love having him come to church with us each week.
I also have been impressed with his family and parents.  What courage and strength it takes to support and love your son through a large decision like this when it's not something you do as a family.
He went through several different missionaries through his discussions and his favorite got transferred the day before the baptism.  But he learned that he could love them and it was about what he was learning not who was teaching it to him.
The day of the baptism I was overwhelmed at the love and support shown him.  Here is a sampling of some of the youth who showed up for his baptism.
We had originally set things up in the RS room but so many showed up to shower love and support on him we had to move to the chapel and then just crowd in the RS room for the actual baptism.  We had planned on food in the YW room but with so many we opened up the cultural hall and enjoyed treats and company of friends.

Having the ward split added the amount of people who knew him.  Having his mom and dad such active members in the community had a lot of people there to support them.

I loved the spirit that came into my home having the discussions held here and the testimonies that grew in my family through this.  It was truly a highlight of our summer.

Thanks to everyone who came out and supported on this great day for AJ!
