Side walk chalk art...so cool!

One of the fun things we did is go to a side walk chalk art show at the Gateway Mall.  We met my mom there when she got off work.  Since we got there a little earlier than her we paid for a bucket of chalk and the kids got to do their own sidewalk art.

This was especially great for them as sidewalk chalk is one of those things my sweet husband hates!  Words can't describe how much he dislikes it.  So my kids having a huge area to do it with only praise yet nothing my husband had to clean or look at and feel guilty for wanting to clean was perfect.
Matthew even got into it.  We tried to get him to tell us who the picture is of...we are guessing Uncle Lorenzo, but he wouldn't say.
Ellie loved how messy her hands could get.  See they are all different colors.

This St Louis Cardinals logo matthew did really impressed me.  To get those letters just right is pretty impressive.
Rachel just kept making her picture bigger and bigger and bigger as time went on.  It was pretty cute the way it ended up.

Did I mention how much ellie loved to "work with her hands" in the chalk?  Yep her picture of me there shows it.  Nothing better than rubbing the chalk around.

Okay, so now we are to the "professional stuff"  The stuff we came to see.  First, we loved getting there on the first day to see the pictures in the first stages of things.  How they gridded, sketched and graphed things out to get them perfect.

The whole event was put on for Foster Kids for fundraising.  I loved how many of the images were of the foster super heros or the disney kids who were foster kids.  How many movies can you come up with that have foster kids.

I lvoed this one of blue eyes.  Everyone could guess what it was just by seeing that one eye.

Rachel's favorite was animal, I have to say it was another one of my favorites.

It was interesting how much I loved the huge simple ones most, yet couldn't believe the ones with such fine detail.

This huge one was hands down a favorite of everyone.  The shading was just incredible.
And who doesn't love Lucy?  We all do!

All in all, it was a super fun night to see others with incredible talent and all for free!  Thanks grandma for meeting us at something so cool.
