It's that time of year again, the first day of school when moms are happy and kids are not! We started school several weeks ago having our first day of school on August 8th. This year, Matthew is starting 8th grade at the age of 13, Harrison is starting 6th grade at the age of 11, Rachel is starting 4th grade at the age of 9, and Ellie can't decide if she is starting preschool or if she is starting high school at the age of 3.
Matthew's homeroom tacher is Mrs. Kristen Menlove, Harrison's homeroom teacher is Mrs. Lisa Witt, Rachel's teacher is Mrs. Nieboer, and Ellie's music preschool teacher is Sis. Lisa Roberts. A side note since this post is going up so late. We are about a month into school have have not had recess more than we have had it due to the heat index being so high. We are all ready for this 115 weather to go away. Here's looking to the 90's.
Rachel's favorite thing about this year of school is that she can now play viola, having her best friend in her class again, and finally having Mrs. Nieboer after having to wait for years.
Ellie's favorite thing about her music preschool is that she gets to march and dance. Her favorite thing about dance class is first position and pleaues.
Harrisons favorite thing about 6th grade is just reuniting with his three year classmates, and he is looking forward to science camp in the spring.
Since Matthew isn't here I am going to guess that his favorite part of 8th grade is all the homework and being able to have no time with his friends.

Wow, I really can't believe how grown up Matthew is getting! And lucky Rachel, that's the best instrument! My kids only have the choice of wind instruments, so I won't get a kid who chooses my instrument. It has such a beautiful sound, I loved playing the viola.
harrison, great post. my kids are dying to go outside for recess as well. if the schools would just invest in bouncy castles in the caferteria, this might not even be a sore point. good luck with the rest of school!
