Each year the Saturday, fourth of July weekend we head up to the Rim and do fireworks at Heber. Unfortunately this year due to the fires they did not hold their fireworks.
But since we really hate being down in the heat to watch a lame fireworks show here in the valley, and fireworks are a really big deal to me, we changed things up this year.
We drove up on the day of the 4th to Payson, AZ to watch the fireworks there.
It was so nice to just get out of the heat and play where it's cool. We went to a little place prior and hiked around through a cave and such before we went and staked out our spot for the fireworks.
While hiking around we saw Javalina. Not something we'd ever seen just wandering around. It really surprised us when we first saw them. But it was apparent they are used to people being near them so we got a couple pictures of them.
The fireworks show was great. I love a good small town huge show. We all agreed as good as it was it still didn't compare to Heber AZ, but it was a nice second.
Happy 4th of July everyone!
