These are a few of my favorite things...

These are a few of my favorite things...The kids and I watched the sound of music last week. Now that song has been going through all our heads since. When I look through this bunch of pictures it just reminds me of that song.

It's a day when once presents are opened and cinnamon rolls are consumed, my kids are excited to get dressed cause they have new clothes they want to wear. Then they sit around the house just enjoying their favorite things they got for Christmas.

Matthew got his new Ipod loaded with songs and such that John has and loved being able to sit and listen to his own music while he read a book.

Ellie loved getting to sit around and watch Christmas shows on TV whenever she wanted to.


Living in Arizona it does mean we are able to go outside and play with any toys and such that are meant for the outdoors, like a new bike. She needs more confidence on her bike since it's taller but she'll get it again I'm sure.


The boys worked together with John to build the lego set from my sister. It was a family affair as each boy built a section and Rachel helped lay out the legos. It really is a favorite thing for John on Christmas so we are really proud of him to share the time with the kids since it was given to them too.


Pretty much it was just a day of relaxing and enjoying those gifts we recieved. I love to see them move from one thing to another after a while. We do the big meal Christmas eve so Christmas day is just relaxing for everyone. We enjoyed some lil smokies for lunch/dinner and snacks and leftovers the rest of the day.

We had a few minutes to catch up with several family members on the phone and enjoyed the time telling them about our special christmas and hearing about their christmas plans.


It's a day we just stay home and feel incredibly blessed and I'm so grateful for the time we had to do it and just be a family together. We miss all our family who lives so far away but we are so grateful for the time we have to enjoy each others company just relaxing together.
