A trip to the Zoo can be educational
Since Harrison has not had much time for something special just him and me, I let him skip school one day this month to take Ellie to the zoo. I figured he's a straight A student so one day won't hurt for him to not learn anything right? Well, this kid proved me wrong. He proved to me that even when he skips school he finds a way to learn. As we walked we let him guide the way. Which animals we saw and how long we spent we let him decide. He read every sign there was to learn as much as he could about the animals. My sister in law Kim and her two kids Mahonri and Leila both enjoyed the day with us. One of his favorite parts was the sting rays. He even got to feed the sting rays which he thought was a pretty neat thing. Though it felt kind of weird. But one of the neatest things was to learn about the flamingos. The reason they stand on only one leg is to warm the other leg since they stand in cold water all day. He also thought it was about the funniest thing to see the goose who would stand on one leg to be like the flamingo's.
